Bringing Toyota to Life at the Olympic Trials with AR

How might we let spectators race Toyota cars through Paris without leaving the event?
The Process
To bring this AR racing experience to life, I worked across design, 3D, QA, and marketing. The process followed an Alpha-to-Beta build structure—starting with planning how gameplay would work, then refining visuals, interactions, and campaign materials through iterative testing and stakeholder feedback.
Lo Fi
I designed and built the core mechanics for a three-level AR racing game, mapping out gameplay in low-fi screens and collaborating with stakeholders to align on 3D track elements. Each level featured a different Toyota vehicle, highlighting its strengths through dynamic obstacle navigation. I also oversaw the beta build to ensure seamless execution.

I then focused on pixel-perfect execution, aligning every design element with Toyota’s and the Olympics' branding for a polished final experience. I created the visual assets, UI elements, and AR interactions, ensuring a seamless blend of gameplay, brand identity, and intuitive design

Marketing
I led a marketing campaign with 33 branded assets—social posts, videos, posters, and web banners—designed to complement the game’s UI. This cohesive approach drove users to the experience and exceeded engagement goals.
Define Design Direction
I developed multiple design directions to establish the look and feel of the marketing campaign, creating both vertical and horizontal formats to reflect the needs of each asset. The client-selected concepts are outlined in red.

Results
The experience attracted 82,427 users and generated 142,000+ sessions, building excitement around Toyota’s Olympic presence. By leading both the game design and the marketing rollout, I brought Toyota’s brand to life in AR—giving users a hands-on way to interact with the vehicles and creating an experience that was immersive, exciting, and unforgettable.
